I wanted to give you guys a quick update on what has been happening with me the last couple weeks.
I had big plans for the last couple weeks while not creating anything for the blog.
It has been a roller coaster ride of nothingness. Continue reading
After much debate I have decided to take a break for a couple weeks.
It is winter and most of my projects have been put on a back burner. I opened an Etsy store to see if I could drum up some sales. I am not sure how that will pan out but there are some items I need to work on that I want to sell and I just need some time to get things going. Continue reading
About a year ago I bought something to create a project with. It was a white circular glass lampshade. It had a pretty gold pattern on it and I immediately knew what I was going to do with it. I bought it at a thrift store. The lampshade actually sat there for 2 weeks in the thrift store. I knew why it wouldn’t sell. Continue reading
It is winter and all projects have moved indoors. Now when I say all projects, I also mean that all of my sons projects have come indoors as well.
My son bought a new tire for his motorcycle. He needed to take the old one off the rim and replace it. I thought nothing of it. He likes to tinker with his motorcycle himself, instead of paying someone else to do it and I quite admire that in him. But here is where the admiration became a total gut sinking horror! Sometimes I do some strange things.
When people look at mousetraps they automatically go “YUCK”! Most people would never attempt a craft project using mousetraps. But not I! I automatically think “Whoa that is too cool”. And that is exactly what I thought when I seen my next project on Pinterest.
This is a message board using an old washboard and mousetraps. I already had an old washboard I had picked up at a thrift store. Continue reading
Each year I sit at the computer and design my own Christmas card using a computer photo editing program.
I don’t feel guilty that I do not go out and buy Christmas cards and lovingly sign them. Then drop them in the mail box two months early so everyone gets them on time. I like the new modern way and if anyone was waiting for a card in the mail from me before the computer tech bug got me, they would have had a long wait. It was just something I never did. I decided not to decorate for Christmas this year. I know, it sounds horrible doesn’t it! Someone with all the creativity in the world has decided not to decorate. No Christmas balls, no garland, no nothing to be honest.
Why, you may wonder? Continue reading
Some days my greatest joy is sitting at the back window to watch the birds at the feeders. I am also armed with my camera. I have a passion for capturing my fine feathered friends in a photograph. Continue reading
Yes I admit it! I have an obsession for birds! I also want to have the coolest bird feeding station in town. Not that the birds care what it looks like. The greedy little buggers would still come if I fed them out of an old rusty soup can. But “I” want it to look COOL. I want it to be made from all repurposed items I have found. Yup, I want junk feeders! Continue reading
This week I would like to show off two more Christmas wreaths I made. They are made from girls ice skates mounted to a silver colored metal serving platter adorned with flowers.
I made these wreaths last year just as I was starting up this blog and did not promote them as Christmas season was already well under way. But now I would like them to shine as they well deserve. I love these wreaths and if I could, I would make them all year round. Continue reading
