Have you ever wondered how some people can always have the greatest photos ever and yours just look… blah, or cute… but… “DAMN… look at the size of that zit I had that day!”
Well let me tell you right now, photo editing is the answer to all your selfie prayers.
I started playing around with photo editing as soon as my son built my first computer and I have been addicted to it ever since.
My “Here’s Johnny” door… I have had this idea in the back of my mind for quite some time. So this past summer when I rescued an old door from the dump I was ecstatic to be able to implement my idea.
Yes I know it is kinda creepy but sometimes I just can’t help myself.
When the weirdness comes out to play, I just embrace it… I go full throttle crazy.
This Whirligig Project started with a trip to the Dairy Queen. It was my very first project here in Medicine Hat. My son and I had just moved here. We decided to go for a drive to find a Dairy Queen and look the town over.
Up the hill Chris took a wrong turn and we passed this strange thing on someones front yard. We laughed but deep down I really liked this. Continue reading
I have a thing for birds. The songs they sing always catch me looking up into the trees or atop a roof line. I simply could watch them all day long. I haven’t always had this love for birds. Well maybe I did, but when you are young you forget to slow down enough to notice the little things. Now that I have a goodly age under my belt I seem to quite enjoy doing nothing but watching birds flutter around and singing their songs. Continue reading
OLD HABITS DIE HARD! I AM STILL GIVING STUFF AWAY!
When I first started this blog, I mentioned in the very first paragraph, how I like to make things, just to see if I could make them. (It is in the “ABOUT KAT” page). Then I just give whatever it is I made away. Well I am doing it again! Continue reading
Today’s DIY project is something I have wanted to do since I
seen saw one on Pinterest a couple years ago. It is a spring time door wreath made from a child’s size umbrella.
But since I only like to use thrift store items in most of my projects it was difficult to find a child size one. You don’t find them very often. Kids probably destroy them or lose them before they ever get donated. So when I spied this one at the Habitat ReStore lying on a shelf I jumped up and down with such glee that the cashier thought I was off my rocker. Continue reading
I need new curtains like I need a hole in the head. I have lived in this house two and a half years now and have changed the curtains in the kitchen more times than I can count. Nothing seems to work for me. Continue reading
I know this isn’t the regular type of post that I write and I was a little hesitant about doing a blog post most people were not going to be interested in. I still wanted to find a way to send a special message saying Happy Birthday to my little sister.
So how does one do something for a sister that is worlds away and I haven’t seen for more years than I can count. Well I decided to use this blog to do just that… To tell everyone and her, how much I love her and she is always in my heart. Continue reading
Today I would like to do a tutorial on a popular item. It is a tiered stand you can use anywhere in the house for decoration, display or a really handy storage thingy.
Some of you just are not into making stuff like I am. I am addicted to making stuff. So if you don’t want to make one this post will probably be pretty boring. You can look at the pretty pictures though or you can go and watch this educational but very funny video about the octopus. Those of you who like the stand but don’t want to make one, this one just happens to be up for sale in my shop!
No I am not talking about boobs! I have lived with my little boobies my whole life and I am not getting fake ones!
It’s Earth Day as I write this, so I am going to discuss fake vs real plants and some of my thoughts on this subject.
The last 2 years at this rental house I am in, I have gone out and purchased real pretty flowers for a few of the planters to make the place feel more homey. Last year though was a horrifying sticker shock. I spent just over $300.00 on plants for 5 small planters. That to me seems a ridiculous amount of money to spend on something that is just going to die at the end of the year. Then you have to do it all over again the following spring! NOPE not going to happen! Continue reading
